Split Chana Khaman Dhokla

Split Chana Bengal is rich in zinc, folates and calcium. It is high in protein. Some of the benefits are:

Steps
For Dhoklas
Soak 2 cups of chana dal for few hours
Add soaked chana, green chilies, ginger, pinch of asafoetida to a mixer jar along with a little water enough to make smooth batter
Add 1 tbsp oil, 1 tpsp lemon juice, a packet of fruit salt or eno(2-3 gms) in the batter
Mix the batter vigorously
Lightly grease a pan and pour the batter. Let it steam for 20 mins in pressure or electric cooker
For Tempering
Heat 2 tsp of oil
Add mustard seeds, sesame seeds, curry leaves, green chilly, sugar and salt
Sprinkle tempering on top of cooked dhoklas.
Garnish with fresh chopped coriander leaves
Ingredients
For the dhoklas
2 cup chana dal
2-3 green chilies
Ginger, pinch of asafoetida
1 tbsp oil
1 tpsp lemon juice
A packet of fruit salt or eno(2-3 gms)
For tempering
2 tsp of oil
Mustard seeds
Sesame seeds
Curry leaves
Green chilly
Sugar
Salt to taste
Fresh chopped coriander leaves
